I wish I knew what tree this very unique piece of driftwood came from. The point and large "eye" reminded me of one of the deep sea chimaera species. Chimaera are a distant relative of sharks but only have one gill slit and have permanent teeth reinforced with pleromin that is one of the hardest known biological materials. The Indo inspired peeling left on this sculpture is pretty cool too.
This handmade sculpture belongs to an open edition series. The series has no predetermined limit and will continue to grow with new unique pieces. This work is stamped with the year completed, its chronological number in the series, and the artist’s signature on the back.
